EDSO visited EUD in Brussels
EDSO President, Bjørn Røine and EDSO General Secretary, Juha Matti Aaltonen had a meeting with Executive Director of European Union of the Deaf (EUD), Mark Wheatley on 5 October 2010.
Mark had presented the EUD work and its network.
EDSO and EUD had agreed to keep in regular contact to share information and advices.
It is important for EDSO to raise aware about deaf sport in Europe.

Message of Emilo Basconcillos, Presidente de la FEDS
By the present inform you that the championship of Spain of Mountain Bike for Deaf will be suspended, as already informed them, the place of the championship was changed by different problems, the new town proposed Masquefa (Barcelona) this dispuesto to colaborar with the organization but said us that it remains very little time, so it will be for the month of October when it can realize, apologized by the inconvenientes and agradecemos his receptividad.
We will be in contact to inform them of the organization.
With deep consternation we have to inform you about the death of our
President, Roland Brunner. He losed his life on Monday afternoon, 14th June
2010 at an age of 55 years in a motoring accident. We express our
condolence to his family and wish all of them much strength.
Note: Effective immediately, France athletes may not participate in any ICSD sanctioned events until France works out with ICSD to agree on resolution to regain membership status in compliance with both ICSD and EDSO Constitutions.

For the first time the competition was carried out with the juniors. I see great FUTURE: large rush of juniors. Juniors have great ambition, motivation and also have win medals. That was very important. Despite high demands in difficult weather conditions, there was exciting racing. On the last day of the ceremony, traditional international folklore festival and a spectacular fireworks display was performed. The ski resort Jasna as a fine ski area, the cooperation with the race organization was excellent without complications. This was the dress rehearsal for the Deaflympics.

The Opening Ceremony took place on 27 January 2010 with EDSO Board member, Mr Pansky, in attendance and 38 athletes representing seven countries. This included eight junior males, seven junior femailes, 20 men, and three women. There were also 15 coaches, Presidents and officials present.
Onlookers enjoyed watching the athletes parade, and local children performing Slovakian folk dances, among ohter entertainment. Fifteen Organizing Committee members worked to deliver the Opening Ceremony and the sports program..
The first day of competition ran smoothly.
