ICSD VISIT & SITE INSPECTION OF TAIPEI 2009 DEAFLYMPICS

We visited various sites for inspection with the ICSD Executive Committee, the representatives of the Regional Confederations and the ICSD Technical Directors, guided by Mr Chi- Chen, member of the Organising Committee and President of the Taiwanese Deaf Sports Federation, during the whole week from 4th October to 10th October 2008.

We were welcome by the Mayor of Taipei, with accompanied journalists to the construction of the stadium, where the Opening and Closing ceremonies will be taken place.

The Draw of Football, Basketball (both Men and Women), Water Polo and Handball had taken place on Fridays 9th October, in the presence of the members of the Organising committee, ICSD Executive Committee, and certain observers. The Mayor of Taipei had made his speech translated with an international gestural language to the in front of the guests at the banquet.

The Organising Committee had been praised for their close collaboration with the ICSD Technical Directors, continue to improve the lands and the welcome of the athletes to the competitions.

Message of ICSD : Jerald Jordan

Dear Members,

It is with deep sorrow that I must inform you that our honorary President, Mr. Jerald Jordan, passed away yesterday, Wednesday 26 March, at home.
More information will be posted on ICSD website as soon as the family releases an official obituary.
May he rest in peace!
